Responsibilities:
- Lead or play a central role in executing business development transactions including: in-licensing/out-licensing; co-development and co-commercialization agreements; research collaborations and platform partnerships; option-based deals; key supply agreements; geographic licensing arrangements; joint ventures or other structured transactions.
- Coordinate cross-functional diligence across R&D, technical operations/CMC, clinical, regulatory, legal, IP, finance, commercial, and executive leadership.
- Develop business cases, valuation frameworks, competitive assessments, and transaction rationale.
- Structure, negotiate, and finalize term sheets, letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, and definitive agreements with legal and executive leadership.
- Prepare presentations and recommendations for senior management, executive committees, and the Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain relationships with biotechnology peers, pharmaceutical companies, and academic institutions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for partners; represent the company professionally and strategically.
- Support alliance transition and post-signing governance as needed.
- Partner with internal leaders across research, development, manufacturing, commercial, finance, legal, IP, investor relations, and corporate strategy.
- Synthesize complex scientific, clinical, strategic, operational, and financial considerations to drive internal alignment.
- Contribute to corporate planning (portfolio prioritization, long-range planning, strategic reviews).
- Develop financial frameworks to analyze potential transactions.

Qualifications:
- 7+ years in biotech/life sciences business development (technology licensing or tech transfer preferred; alternate education/experience considered).
- Deep understanding of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial dynamics of therapeutic development.
- Proven success negotiating and closing complex transactions; strong strategic judgment and cross-functional leadership.
- Ability to work with senior leadership and external stakeholders with executive-level visibility and confidentiality.

Preferred/Additional:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, MBA, JD).
- Experience in a public company environment.

What you should know:
- Base pay range: $250,000–$315,000/year.
- Location: Cambridge, MA office.
