Main Responsibilities
- Serve as a proactive thought partner to M&S stakeholders across each Global Business Unit (Specialty Care, Vaccines, General Medicines).
- Lead legal strategy, drafting, and negotiation for complex biopharmaceutical manufacturing transactions (direct materials, drug substance, active pharmaceutical ingredient, drug product, and finished goods) on a global basis.
- Lead advanced dispute resolution to turn conflicts into business opportunities.
- Collaborate with M&S Global Functions on transformation initiatives for the M&S industrial network (capacity, investment, strategic sourcing, smart spending, external partnerships, and optimized risk management).
- Provide expert legal advice for Business Development/Alliance workstreams on M&A and licensing activity involving M&S.
- Drive optimized ways of working across Legal, M&S, Global Procurement, and Business Operations with an emphasis on standardization and simplification.
- Champion digital adoption to maximize efficiency and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited law school; admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of legal experience supporting complex biopharmaceutical manufacturing transactions; at least 5 years in-house experience at a multinational biopharmaceutical company (preferred).
- Detailed knowledge of GxP, CMC Regulatory, Standard Cost Accounting, and multinational biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated business acumen; strong negotiation and global stakeholder partnership skills.
- Strong communication skills; excellent judgment and ethical conduct.
- Strategic, entrepreneurial problem-solving mindset; ability to prioritize and complete workstreams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
