Role Summary
The Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial provides legal support to Intellia’s Commercial and Medical Affairs groups at a strategic and operational level for the launch of Intellia’s first product, a gene editing therapy in Phase 3 development for hereditary angioedema (HAE). The role requires strategic thinking and excellent execution in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary legal support for the launch of Intellia’s first product, collaborating with leadership and employees on all aspects of the commercial business.
- Offer timely and strategic counsel to program and launch teams on legal and regulatory requirements, including patient support programs, market access activities, advisory boards, patient ambassadors, speaker programs, and market research.
- Identify issues and collaborate across levels to find solutions early in development; review strategic plans and medical, promotional, and educational materials.
- Serve on committees such as medical, access, MAC; C-MLR; GSC; and MRC.
- Enhance the company’s compliance program through policy drafting/implementation, trainings, and monitoring plans.
- Manage a diverse workload with support from other business activities as part of a growing business.
- Collaborate with all levels of employees, including senior management, exercising judgment in a highly regulated environment and providing visibility as a organizational leader.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the commercialization of biopharmaceuticals.
- Understanding of key commercial activities including sales/marketing, product distribution, market access, and patient support services.
- Extensive experience with business counseling and review of promotional/medical materials (pre- and post-launch).
- Established leadership skills within cross-functional teams and law departments.
- Experience supporting a commercial organization in a small-to-medium biotechnology company.
- Experience supporting the launch of rare disease products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solutions-oriented, cross-functional team player with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build relationships in a cross-functional matrix environment and work with diverse personalities.
- Strong work ethic, positive outlook, and commitment to legal and business teams.
- Collaborative style; team player.
Education
- JD, licensed to practice law in at least one US state.
Experience
- 12+ years practicing law.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience including regulatory and commercial support.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
