Role Summary
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will be a key member of the accounting team with a dual focus on external financial reporting and core accounting operations. This highly visible role will contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of SEC filings, while also supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and process improvements. The position offers significant exposure to executive management and provides opportunity to work closely with a wide range of the Company’s departments, including GL Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Stock Administration, Investor Relations, and Legal.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarter-end stock-based compensation entries, weighted shares calculation and other equity-related analysis.
- Prepare external financial reports, such as quarterly, annual and assist in preparation of other filings, such as proxy statements and other required financial reports.
- Prepare the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Stockholders Equity and other financial footnote disclosure requirements.
- Support month-end close process.
- Perform month-end close activities including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis reports in support of filings and disclosure requirements.
- Assist in audit requests, including preparation of supporting reports and documentation.
- Comply with SOX requirements while performing the above tasks and participate in documentation of SOX compliant processes.
- Ad-hoc projects and research as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA strongly preferred
- 3+ years of work experience which includes audit or accounting operations
- Public accounting experience
- Experience in NetSuite, Equity Edge Online, FloQast and DFIN Active Disclosure
- Excellent project management skills
- Advanced technical accounting knowledge coupled with exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Self-motivated, deadline driven, and results oriented with superior attention to detail
- Problem-solving mindset with the desire to drive change and strong teamwork skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including written communication, that allows effective interactions across functional areas
