Responsibilities:
- Drive implementation of technical solutions and analytical strategies via PAT to enable drug substance production at the Lilly Medicine Foundry.
- Investigate feasibility of instruments for in-line monitoring; ensure methods are technically sound, well developed, and fit-for-purpose.
- Apply scientific concepts and methods across multiple subject areas (e.g., chemistry, PAT, modeling and simulation).
- Support automation development (integrated control systems) between PAT tools and process data systems (e.g., synTQ or other systems).
- Plan and manage short-term and long-term development activities; develop/review agendas and timelines; recommend resource allocation; communicate progress and propose changes in timeline/objectives/direction.
- Collaborate with development and manufacturing organizations to deliver material and information for clinical trials and regulatory submissions.
- Welcome varied perspectives to create new solutions.
- Coordinate instrumentations across projects to enable equal usage of available tools.
- Author or contribute to technical documents (SOPs, technology transfer documents, process flow diagrams, regulatory submissions, patents, scientific papers).
- Ensure work aligns with development quality, regulatory, HSE, GLP, and GMP requirements.

Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
- Experience using analytical equipment in a regulated industrial environment.
- Legally authorized to be employed in the United States; no anticipated visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B or TN).

Benefits/Compensation (as stated):
- Anticipated wage: $65,250 - $169,400.
- Full-time employees may be eligible for a company bonus (depending on company and individual performance).

Other Information (role logistics):
- On-site; 8-hour days, five days per week; flexibility during shutdowns/weekends; 0–10% travel.
