Purpose
- Join our bioassay group in developing and executing in vitro bioassays, including biochemical and cellular assays.
- Execute novel scientific research or development to achieve project and area goals.
- Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques.

Responsibilities
- Develop in vitro assays, screening strategies, and mechanistic studies; deliver high-quality data from validated screens to drive lead series identification and lead optimization.
- Develop disease-relevant phenotypic assays using complex cellular models (e.g., primary and stem cells) and elucidate mechanisms of action of molecules.
- Be proficient with multiple assay formats in higher-throughput formats.
- Collaborate with disease area teams to conceive and execute screens, including mechanism of action studies, within strict time and quality tolerances.
- Collaborate within the group and cross-functional teams to execute projects and coordinate discovery efforts.
- Stay current on technical developments and scientific knowledge and apply them as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate results via presentations and written reports and participate in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
- BS or equivalent with typically 7+ years of experience, or MS or equivalent with typically 5+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience with biochemical and cellular assays (e.g., protein-ligand binding, enzyme activity, functional cell assays).
- Skills in mammalian cell culture and cell transfection.
- Ability to independently design, execute, and interpret experiments to answer scientific questions.
- Ability to learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques.
- Ability to multi-task and work within timelines; capable of independent work while contributing to a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
