Scientific Director / Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs – Psoriatic Disease

Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate medical affairs activities including data generation and dissemination strategy; develop Global Medical Affairs strategy; deliver the Medical Functional Plan and Brand Plan; ensure consistent global execution; contribute to HEOR evidence strategies for value proposition, market access, and payer engagement.
- Design, analyze, interpret, and report scientific content of protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, and regulatory submissions/responses.
- Oversee Medical Affairs-led clinical studies; monitor integrity; review/interpret/communicate accumulating safety and efficacy data; provide in-house clinical expertise and coordinate scientific activities.
- Participate in clinical trial safety (including safety monitoring); resolve safety issues; review and assess all Adverse Events (AEs) and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs).
- Act as a clinical interface; solicit expert input via leader interactions; incorporate cross-functional perspectives into clinical development plans and protocols.
- Plan and execute scientifically accurate marketing materials, medical education, Medical Advisory Boards, and scientific symposia; support affiliate/area/global medical research activities.
- Coordinate scientific/medical activities with internal stakeholders; serve as scientific interface for key regulatory discussions.
- Provide scientific/medical education; stay current with medical literature/conferences; act as therapeutic area resource.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior colleagues.
- Ensure budgets/timelines/compliance are factored into scientific activities; ensure compliance with industry codes, AbbVie SOPs, and global regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
Experience Requirements — Scientific Director
- PhD or PharmD (advanced degree); additional post-doctorate preferred.
- Typically 10–15 years in the pharmaceutical industry/related.
- 7–10 years in Medical Affairs with Global Medical Affairs experience highly preferred.

Experience Requirements — Senior Medical Director
- MD or equivalent (DO or non-US equivalent of MD); relevant academic/hospital specialty preferred; residency/fellowship preferred.
- Minimum 2 years clinical trial or medical affairs experience; 5 years preferred.

Additional Qualifications
- Deep understanding of psoriatic disease (highly preferred).
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, data analysis/interpretation, regulatory requirements, and protocol/protocol design strategy.
- Proven cross-functional global leadership; ability to support global business strategy externally and internally.
- Excellent oral and written English communication.
