Position Summary
- Perform routine quality control testing of protein, peptide, or antibody products using standard operating procedures to determine lot status, product release, and product stability.
- Tests include: concentration determination, SDS-PAGE with densitometry, endotoxin assay, TOC, conductivity, and other testing as assigned.
- Document, analyze, and communicate results within the department and across groups.
- Calibrate and maintain instruments, maintain records, and provide lab support.
- Pursue annual goals to facilitate innovation, efficiency, productivity, and team building across the QC Department or the company.
Essential Functions
- Perform, document, and report data for routine QC testing following SOPs.
- Assist with lab support: instrument calibration/maintenance, reagent ordering and preparation, waste disposal, laboratory cleaning.
- Monitor lab supplies and assist with ordering.
- Perform peer review of lab documentation for accuracy and continuous improvement; assist with metrics collection.
- Participate in laboratory meetings and interact with group members.
- Follow company policies/practices and safety guidelines (Handbook; AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene, Exposure Control manuals).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
- 0–2 years related experience.
- Attention to detail, organization, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of biochemistry and application to protein, peptide, and antibody products.
- Knowledge of basic lab equipment, QC functions, test procedures, and aseptic technique.
- Ability to plan/organize/manage time.
- Knowledge of safety and company rules/policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; Internet browsers; computer entry and typing skills.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking; make effective decisions within SOP scope.
- Verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Ability to handle sensitive/proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
- High accuracy and attention to detail; ability to learn and consistently execute lab tasks.
- Ability to act independently on routine assignments and collaborate on team projects.
- Work hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.; flexibility for alternate/additional hours as needed.

Compensation
- Pay range: $40,300.00 – $66,250.00
