About The Role
This position is responsible for leading a sales team to promote and grow life-changing treatments for serious, challenging, under-addressed neurological, endocrine, and psychiatric disorders within an assigned geographic area. Recruits, hires, on-boards, and leads a diverse, high-performing sales team to meet and exceed sales goals; manages key projects; works with cross-functional commercial teams; develops strategies for access through specialty pharmacy fulfillment; provides direction and coaching in the field; and executes successful sales meetings as needed.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
- Identify, recruit, coach, and retain top sales talent.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction; accountable for region performance objectives.
- Plan, direct, implement, and oversee activities for the geographic area.
- Execute sales force strategies and marketing plans to meet/exceed sales objectives.
- Penetrate and segment the psychiatric and movement disorder marketplace (e.g., psychiatrists, neurologists, community mental health clinics).
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and territory-level communication/implementation.
- Foster innovation; collaborate with marketing and human resources.
- Identify regional opportunities/barriers; review/analyze key reports; manage regional expenses.
- Support training/on-boarding; reinforce compliance with company policies and competencies/values; coaching and counseling for development.
- Build relationships with opinion leaders, professional groups, advocacy groups, long-term care facilities, payers, and pharmacies.
- Provide feedback to HQ/Sales Management; perform responsibilities to high ethical standards.
Requirements (education/experience)
- BS/BA + 12+ years biotech/pharma sales (including 5+ years first-line sales management), OR Masterβs + 10+ years, OR PhD + 7+ years.
Required/Preferred Skills
- Specialty pharmaceuticals experience in psychiatry/neurology/anti-psychotic areas; proven launch experience; specialty pharmacy distribution strongly preferred.
- Business systems and sales/BI tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, Cognos, QlikView, Veeva, etc.).
- Track record of building sales teams and achieving challenging objectives; results-oriented leadership.
- Expertise coaching for account selling and pull-through across specialty fulfillment and payer requirements.
- Cross-functional work ability; strong understanding of market access, industry standards, and healthcare regulatory/enforcement environments.
- Valid driverβs license and clean driving record; frequent driving required.
- Specialty Pharmacy Launch experience required; Centers of Excellence/Academic Hospital Systems expertise; Rare Disease Team Leadership highly preferred.
