Brief Description
The Regional Sales Manager (Epilepsy) will lead and develop a patient-driven Rare Disease Sales Team within the Epilepsy and Movement Disorders (EMD) Business Unit, shape regional sales strategy in the US, and lead sales execution to ensure US commercial success. Must be able to lead through large institutions and IDNs and manage accounts/systems.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Neurology Account Managers and Care System Liaison (recruiting, hiring, developing, coaching, evaluating).
- Develop, lead, and execute local market sales plan with goals/targets for sustained growth (launch and growth phases).
- Create and maintain a people-valued, patient-driven culture (integrity, excellence, accountability, collaboration).
- Inspire and unite the team via authentic, agile leadership.
- Foster an entrepreneurial culture with ownership/accountability and open communication.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of disease state, product, rare/orphan market, competition, and healthcare marketplace.
- Engage KOLs/customers; build relationships with thought leaders and customers; engage HCPs.
- Coach and develop sales team competence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Market Access, Marketing, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, Patient Access, Government Affairs, Compliance).
- Analyze and leverage sales analytics/CRM/business statistics/customer feedback.
- Manage promotional and T&E budgets per compliance policies.
- Model high ethical standards and require legal/ethical/procedural compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Qualifications
- 10+ years progressive biotech/pharma sales and sales leadership.
- Proven success leading product launches (preferably rare disease).
- 5+ years leading sales teams with documented success exceeding goals.
- 6+ years in epilepsy leadership.
- Rare disease and/or Epilepsy experience required; rare disease experience and local/national patient advocacy experience.
- Academic and/or institutional experience required.
- Successful product launch experience required.
- Exemplary leadership; clinical and business acumen; learning agility.
- Strong performance management; ability to close performance gaps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred
- Product marketing, sales training, commercial operations experience.
- Strong Epilepsy community business relationships.
- MBA or other advanced degree.

Travel
- Up to 75%; some evenings/weekends for meetings, conferences, and advocacy events.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
