The Regional Sales Director leads regional sales performance and launch excellence within a geographic area and/or aligned to specific hospital or large group practice accounts. Develops Account Managers to execute regional business plans, drive demand generation and appropriate product utilization, and achieve sales objectives compliantly. Provides field leadership in a matrixed environment, translating national strategy into regional execution and monitoring local market dynamics.

Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, coach, develop, and manage Account Managers
- Lead regional launch execution (awareness, demand generation, utilization, sales performance)
- Develop and execute regional business plans (key accounts, segments, opportunities, resource allocation)
- Lead sales efforts to meet/exceed sales targets compliantly
- Execute approved marketing plan to maximize market penetration
- Monitor local market conditions; adapt strategies and maintain customer relationships
- Ensure timely delivery of marketing and sales tactics
- Collaborate on goal setting and performance measures
- Use data/dashboards to monitor results, identify gaps, coach, and optimize execution
- Set performance expectations; coach/feedback; manage performance and discipline
- Conduct regular field ride-alongs for hands-on coaching
- Build an accountable culture and retain talent
- Ensure compliance with field activities and company guidelines

Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution; valid driver’s license
- 7+ years pharmaceutical/medical sales
- 2+ years district/regional field management experience
- Experience leading hospital/health system/large practice group teams
- Understanding of hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven success leading hospital/specialty/account-based teams
- Launch experience (specialty/anti-infective/infectious disease/hospital-based products)
- Deep knowledge of hospital decision-making (formulary, antimicrobial stewardship, pathways, protocol development, demand generation)
- Stakeholder management experience (clinical/non-clinical)
- Strong account management leadership (IDNs, health systems, academic centers, large group practices)
- Experience in matrixed organizations and coordinated execution across functions
- Ability to translate access/formulary/protocol adoption into utilization/prescribing
- Strong analytical skills; coaching and culture-building during growth/launch readiness
- Anti-infective/hospital specialty/infectious disease experience strongly preferred
- MBA/advanced degree preferred

Skills/Requirements:
- Adhere to regulatory/legal/compliance standards; strong presentation/selling, communication, and analytical skills; Microsoft Office proficiency
- Travel up to 50% (overnight); ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds
