Role Summary

The Regional Director - Neurosciences leads the sales performance and professional development of a team of District Managers and Sales Representatives in an assigned geography focused in Psychiatry. Responsible for driving sales, managing budgets, and ensuring compliant execution of promotional initiatives while developing internal and external relationships to maximize AbbVie resources.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving/exceeding the Neurosciences national sales expectation and other goals established by management and in alignment with U.S. Marketing Plans, within expense, compliance, and legal guidelines.
  • Continually analyze sales and business execution to uncover needs, develop/execute plans, evaluate progress, measure results, and monitor success to improve district, regional, and national sales performance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, inspiring and retaining talent and mentoring others within the organization.
  • Collaborate with external customers and internal partners to ensure appropriate AbbVie resources are utilized to address customer needs and improve sales performance.
  • Meet established national productivity and administrative requirements to support sales and marketing strategy.
  • Manage a budget, including program/training allocations, travel/meeting budgets, and expense approvals for direct reports.
  • Provide direct feedback and facilitate communications to corporate partners regarding marketing initiatives and their reception.
  • Drive personal auto or company vehicle use as part of field responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Successful sales management experience with a positive track record of leading teams in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in commercial pharmaceutical activities such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, and marketing.
  • Ability to set a vision and strategy; build and inspire individuals and teams for success.
  • Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functions.

  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proofs, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; candidate responsible for satisfying all requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (preferred); or equivalent industry experience

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: 50-75% overnight travel; ability to travel to cover regional commitments, conferences, training events, and AbbVie events
  • Geographic location: located within region and proximate to major airport
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability and willingness to meet hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements
