Regional Sales Director (RSD)
Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution for successful market entry and sustained product uptake.
- Translate national brand strategy into regional business plans and field execution priorities.
- Achieve/exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics at launch and beyond.
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain 8β12 territory managers; coach via regular field contact.
- Maintain strong disease state, clinical, and product knowledge.
- Develop relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts; support access and account strategies.
- Support pull-through with IDNs/organized customers/priority accounts; share customer insights internally.
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR to support launch readiness.
- Ensure regional activities comply with policies/industry standards; manage budgets/resources; maintain forecasting, CRM utilization, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- 3+ years people leadership in district/regional manager role.
- Prior launch experience required (first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred).
- Proven specialty sales success; experience in cardiovascular/nephrology/hypertension strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated recruiting/developing talent; strong business planning/analytics/coaching; strong business acumen.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment; travel extensively within region.
Leadership Profile
- Coach/people development; high accountability and urgency; comfort in ambiguity; cross-functional influence; resilient/adaptable.
Travel: Up to 60% (often outside local area; overnight).
Benefits/Compensation
- Medical, dental, vision, time off, 401K; eligibility for incentive plans tied to performance.
- US Salary Range: $180,000β$215,000.
