Position Overview
The Regional Sales Director (RSD) develops and executes sales activities within an assigned region and provides field-based leadership to a team of Account Managers. Drives performance through coaching, talent development, and strategic oversight to meet or exceed sales goals. Reports to the Area Sales Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure sales goals are consistently achieved
- Recruit, hire, and manage a high-performing team
- Coordinate in-field activity to achieve results with assigned accounts
- Plan and conduct region plan-of-action meetings and other meetings as needed
- Develop and execute business plans to meet or exceed sales objectives
- Maintain technical expertise on products, policies, and business-related issues for employees and customers
- Demonstrate urgency, follow-up, and integrity in business interactions
- Cover key accounts (virtual and in person) as needed during account manager vacancies
- Follow occupational health and safety procedures, GMPs, and SOPs
- Uphold mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork
- Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as needed
- Collaborate regularly with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree (BA/BS), preferably life sciences or business administration (required)
- 5+ years pharmaceutical sales management experience (required)
- Demonstrated sales success, team leadership, and talent development
- Patient access and market access pull-through experience
- Ability to provide candid feedback and manage performance
- Knowledge of FDA Marketing Compliance, PhRMA Guidelines, and the Sunshine Act
- Travel 3β4 days/week; overnight/weekend travel expected
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong planning and organization
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid Driverβs License; proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and mobile technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fibromyalgia, rheumatology, neurology, or pain management
- Product launch experience
