Role Summary

Regional Pediatric Specialist โ€“ San Diego. The ideal candidate will have sales experience in pediatrics or comparable sales experience, maintaining a high level of knowledge within the disease state and product labeling. The role focuses on maximizing prescriptions/referrals within key accounts and institutions throughout the geography, working alongside the Skeletal Dysplasia Sales team to reach patients with Achondroplasia.

Responsibilities

  • Pediatric Specialist will be accountable for achieving territory goals measured in referrals and new prescriptions with Pediatric/Generalist HCPs
  • Grow new Achondroplasia sites and educate clinicians on the importance of consistent treatment regionally
  • Drive awareness of the product among assigned targeted HCPs
  • Profile accounts and edit lead lists to ensure correct targets are reached at an appropriate frequency
  • Validate HCPs are appropriate for product education and increase urgency to treat and/or refer in territory
  • Track all related activities in CRM to understand referral patterns
  • Maintain accountability for individual performance and metrics
  • Adhere to training, policies, guidelines, and company policies; work with ambiguity and remain agile

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required
  • 2โ€“4 years of pharma experience focused on primary care call points preferred (desire to move into rare disease)
  • Pediatrics/Generalists experience strongly preferred
  • Comparable or strong B2B experience with desire to enter pharma (device, diagnostics background)
  • Cold calling experience in healthcare or equivalent
  • Experience with office-based selling in a complex referral model
  • Experience working in a field team model with account managers

Skills

  • Consultative selling and ability to develop credibility with multiple levels of decision makers in HCP offices
  • Ability to customize and deliver clinical content in a straightforward and actionable way
  • Strong disease-state knowledge and product labeling familiarity
  • CRM proficiency and ability to track and analyze referral patterns
  • Effective communication and training/field coaching capabilities

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends for educational events
  • Ability to manage a multi-state territory with a diverse customer base
  • Overnight travel required, ranging from 30% to 50% depending on geography
  • Advanced virtual collaboration skills to balance travel with remote HCP engagement
