Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison, MSL) β Respiratory (COPD)
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and engage Scientific Leaders to provide company-approved medical/scientific information on therapeutic areas and company products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions; address scientific questions and route out-of-scope requests (e.g., grants).
- Maintain current knowledge of the therapeutic/clinical landscape in the companyβs Areas of Interest.
- Upon request: support investigator discussions, assess research alignment/merit/qualifications, and identify barriers to patient enrollment/retention.
- Upon request: recommend study sites/investigators for phase IIβIV programs, conduct Site Initiation Visits, and support protocol lead responsibilities.
- Engage in scientific congresses/meetings to facilitate scientific and data exchange.
- Gather insights/feedback from SLs and/or patients to inform medical/scientific needs.
Required Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
- 3+ years relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree (e.g., COPD/Respiratory).
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Stakeholder management, principled verbal/written communication, doctoral-level scientific discussions.
- Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and relevant pharmaceutical industry ethics/regulations.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in changing environments; Microsoft Office Suite; virtual meeting familiarity.
Preferred
- 3 years Respiratory (COPD) experience; field-based medical experience; research experience; publications.
Location/Travel
- Northeast territory (MA, CT, VT, RI, NH, ME); reside in territory; travel up to 50%; remote/flexible work.
