Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison, MSL) – Respiratory (COPD)

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with national/regional Scientific Leaders to provide company-approved medical/scientific information on therapeutic interests and company products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions; ensure Scientific Leaders have reliable medical contact.
- Address scientific questions and route out-of-scope inquiries (e.g., grants) to appropriate resources.
- Maintain current knowledge of the scientific/clinical environment in the company’s Areas of Interest.
- Upon request (GCSA): Initiate scientific/data exchange discussions to align investigator-sponsored research with research strategies, study concepts, scientific merit, and compound/trial qualifications; identify enrollment/retention barriers.
- Upon request (GCTO): Recommend study sites and investigators for phase II–IV programs; conduct Site Initiation Visits; support protocol lead responsibilities; address investigator questions for company-sponsored studies.
- Engage in scientific congresses/medical meetings to facilitate scientific and data exchange.
- Gather feedback/data during routine activities to understand medical/scientific needs, priorities, and concerns of Scientific Leaders and patients.

Qualifications:
- Education: PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree (e.g., COPD/Respiratory).
- Skills/knowledge: Stakeholder management; strong verbal/written communication; ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions; FDA/OIG/HIPAA and pharmaceutical ethical/regulatory knowledge; ability to prioritize and work in changing environments; Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.

Preferred:
- 3 years of relevant Respiratory (COPD) experience; field-based medical experience; research experience; publication record.

Required location & travel:
- Chicago region (IL, WI, IA, MN, SD); must reside in territory; travel up to 50%.
