Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison, MSL) β Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with national/regional Scientific Leaders (SLs) and provide company-approved medical/scientific information on therapeutic interests and company products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions; maintain reliable presence with SLs.
- Answer scientific questions and direct off-scope inquiries (e.g., grants) to appropriate resources.
- Maintain current knowledge of the scientific/clinical environment for assigned Areas of Interest (AOI).
- Upon request: coordinate with GCSA to align investigator discussions/study concepts with research strategy, scientific merit, and compound/trial qualifications; identify barriers to patient enrollment/retention.
- Upon request: coordinate with GCTO to recommend study sites/investigators for phase IIβIV programs, conduct Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), serve as protocol lead with GCTO, and address investigator questions for company-sponsored studies.
- Engage in scientific congresses/medical meetings to facilitate data exchange (company and competitor).
- Gather feedback/data during routine activities to inform company understanding of medical/scientific needs and concerns.
Location/Travel
- Northern California territory; reside within territory; travel up to 50%.
Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
- 3+ years relevant Immunology (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) experience beyond terminal degree.
Skills/Knowledge
- Strong verbal/written communication; ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions.
- Stakeholder management, networking, and scientific education/dialogue.
- Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other pharmaceutical ethics/laws/regulations.
- Organize/prioritize in changing environments.
- Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.
Preferred
- Additional Immunology/Rheumatology/Dermatology experience; field-based medical experience; research experience; record of scientific/medical publications.
