Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison, MSL) β Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology
Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships and engage with national/regional Scientific Leaders (SLs) to provide company-approved medical/scientific information on therapeutic areas and products.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions; maintain reliable presence and serve as medical contact.
- Address SL scientific questions and route out-of-scope inquiries (e.g., grants) to appropriate resources.
- Maintain current knowledge of the scientific/clinical environment for the Companyβs Areas of Interest.
- Upon request: Initiate discussions with SLs/potential investigators to align investigator-sponsored research with research strategies and study concepts; identify barriers to patient enrollment/retention.
- Upon request: Recommend study sites and potential investigators (Phase IIβIV); conduct Site Initiation Visits; support protocol lead responsibilities; address investigator questions for company-sponsored studies.
- Engage in scientific congresses/medical meetings and facilitate scientific/data exchange.
- Gather feedback/data during routine activities to help the company understand medical/scientific needs and concerns.
- Lead by example for an inclusive, empowered environment.
Required Location/Travel:
- Northeast region; candidates must reside in territory; travel up to 50%.
Required Education:
- PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 3+ years relevant Immunology (IBD) experience beyond terminal degree.
- Principled written/verbal communication; ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions.
- Strong stakeholder management/networking; FDA/OIG/HIPAA and pharmaceutical ethics/regulatory knowledge.
- Organize/prioritize in changing environments; Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote); familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.
Preferred:
- Additional Immunology/Rheumatology and/or Dermatology experience; field-based medical experience; research experience; record of scientific/medical publications.
