Role Summary

Regional Hematology Manager for the South region, joining the Launch Team of sales professionals. Responsible for calling upon Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) Centers and affiliated healthcare professionals in TX, LA, NM, OK, AR, and MS. Reports to the Regional Business Director, Blood & Transplant, West.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the business within a specific geographical territory area
  • Responsible for disease state awareness materials and educating customers on the signs and symptoms of thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) as it relates to HSCT patients in their targeted institutions
  • Participate in and help create pre-launch strategies that will be used to ensure a successful launch of a product currently under review by the FDA for the treatment of HSCT-TMA
  • Pending FDA approval, educate customers on a monoclonal antibody used to treat HSCT-TMA in targeted hospitals across the assigned territory with focus on HSCT physicians, hematologists, nephrologists, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Assist with reimbursement and access activities, calling on Pharmacy directors, social workers and others to ensure access and distribution of the product
  • Execute the National sales and marketing strategy and create a territory business plan to maximize opportunity
  • Collaborate with home office personnel, Brand team, and National and Corporate account teams for product pull-through
  • Analyze account and physician sales data to create territory tactical plans and develop solutions to grow the business
  • Utilize Microsoft applications and Veeva CRM to track call activity and sales progress
  • Maintain Company and Industry Compliance Rules

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences or healthcare concentration preferred; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 5 years in rare/orphan disease territory management; hematology/HSCT experience a plus
  • Experience in commercial functions such as operations, sales training, or marketing with increasing responsibility preferred
  • Launch experience with a proven track record required
  • Specialty experience required; oncology and hematology preferred
  • Experience working with major Blood and Marrow Transplant Centers and key opinion leaders

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the medical industry (Pharmaceutical, Hospital, Specialty Pharmacy, Biologics/Biotech)
  • Familiarity with adding products to Hospital Formularies
  • Knowledge of HSCT-related products (chemotherapy, radiation, supportive care) is preferred
  • Proven, consistent, above-average sales performance
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with technology tools (Microsoft Office, Veeva CRM)
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers, and subordinates
  • Integrity

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences/healthcare preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Remote work from assigned region
  • Ability to drive or fly to meetings and client sites; overnight and weekend travel required
  • Travel amount varies by territory; travel requirements based on territory and customer locations
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; must reside in assigned territory
