Regional Director, Sales Oncology (SoCal: Greater Los Angeles to San Diego)
Responsibilities:
- Represent Gilead’s products/services to a defined customer base; build and grow a sales team to consistently achieve/exceed regional sales targets.
- Train Specialists; develop relationships with healthcare practices to deliver disease awareness, clinical education updates, and healthcare changes.
- Manage regional sales effectiveness (strategy execution, reach/frequency on targets, use of funds) to meet corporate objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functionally (National Accounts, Marketing, Medical Scientists, etc.); analyze market data to guide team with national direction.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and coach specialists; set measurable outcomes and provide feedback.
- Provide counseling/coaching to improve selling skills, product/disease state expertise, customer focus, and time/resource allocation.
- Serve as liaison between home office and region; lead representation at professional events.
- Ensure compliance with applicable promotion/information requirements (commercial compliance policy).
Qualifications:
- High School + 16 yrs OR Associate + 14 yrs OR Bachelor’s + 12 yrs OR Master’s + 10 yrs OR Ph.D. + 8 yrs.
- Ability to travel regularly within assigned area and meet onsite visitation requirements (e.g., screenings/vaccinations if required).
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred:
- 12 yrs relevant commercial experience; 8 yrs progressive oncology; 4 yrs oncology leadership (District Manager) incl. product launches.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, project management, interpersonal/influencing, and oral/written communication.

Compensation/Benefits (if eligible): $205,615–$266,090 salary range; may include discretionary bonus/long-term incentives, paid time off, and medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
