Regional Sales Director (Atlantic Region)
Key Responsibilities
- Player Coach Dynamic: Lead by example; set high-performance standards, integrity, and customer focus; provide direct field customer engagement, mentoring, and tactical support.
- Sales Team Performance & Development: Recruit, hire, and manage sales specialists; coach, provide feedback, and develop a resilient high-performing team; set expectations, assess outcomes, and reinforce sales force effectiveness.
- Strategic Planning And Execution: Analyze regional market data and trends; develop/execute strategic sales plan aligned to national goals; guide team to achieve/exceed regional targets.
- Operationalization & Science Integration: Understand therapy science and operationalize within healthcare ecosystems; lead local cross-functional account-focused teams; integrate processes into client operations; use industry/competitive/regulatory knowledge for decisions.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build relationships with healthcare practitioners, medical centers, and decision-makers; deliver disease awareness, clinical updates, and product knowledge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with National Accounts, Marketing, Medical Scientists, and internal teams; lead cross-functional projects; coach cross-functional account-focused ways of working.
- Compliance And Integrity: Ensure commercial compliance with federal/state laws and Gilead policies; maintain ethical behavior.
- Field Engagement: Participate in customer-facing meetings/events.
- Travel: Travel within assigned region as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s + 12 years OR Master’s + 10 years OR PhD + 8 years.
- Ability to travel within assigned area; satisfy onsite visitation requirements (e.g., vaccinations/screenings as applicable).
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years relevant commercial experience (marketing/sales).
- Strategic sales leadership; player-coach leadership; cross-functional collaboration.
- Operational/scientific acumen; sales team development.
- Healthcare ecosystem integration and account management.
- Experience in buy-and-bill/institutional sales; matrix/project management; compliance/ethical leadership.
- Multi-product experience; patient-centric focus; ability to lead diverse teams.
