Regional Business Director (Great Lakes) — Gastroenterology Rare Disease Sales

Responsibilities/Objectives:
- Achieve Business Unit sales objectives by planning and implementing Quarterly Business Reviews and coaching.
- Build and lead the regional sales team; provide support and coaching; manage relationships with key customers/professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Manage regional sales business operations (policies/procedures, budgets, sales/account data).
- Plan and oversee sales representative activities and policies within a geographical region.
- Implement marketing strategies and plans regionally to meet quarterly/yearly sales objectives.
- Review quarterly sales plan implementation; continually analyze territories for growth.
- Maintain in-depth local customer/network knowledge; communicate personnel/product/market activity and issues to management.
- Coordinate selling efforts with managed care and national accounts.
- Set performance expectations; observe/document performance; counsel/coach reps; recruit/train/manage performance.
- Manage expenses to budget; conduct POA/launch meetings; act as liaison between corporate and field sales.

Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3–5 years as a pharmaceutical representative with proven sales success (technical knowledge, selling techniques).
- Experience selling/managing reps in an institutional environment.
- Strategic/business planning skills; ability to coach/delegate/motivate; analyze complex data.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred:
- 2–3 years district/pharma management experience.
- Product launch/turnaround experience; Rare Disease and GI experience.
- MBA or Master’s degree.

Skills/Competencies:
- Business acumen, accountability/ownership, inspiring and motivating others, developing authentic relationships, sound judgment/decision-making.

Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.

Travel:
- Some overnight travel; may work evenings/weekends; work from home office when not traveling.
