Rare Disease Business Manager (RDBM) drives sales and territory growth for narcolepsy type 1 by executing sales strategies, building relationships with targeted healthcare providers (HCPs), and supporting a new therapeutic option after regulatory approval.
How you will contribute:
- Clinical expertise: deliver disease state and product knowledge to support product education and demand.
- Sales strategy & execution: implement approved sales/marketing plans using on-label materials to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual goals; manage business activities in territory to advance diagnosis/treatment of NT1.
- Specialty customer engagement: educate sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists, sleep centers, and clinic staff on disease state and approved orexin therapies.
- Strategic analysis & territory planning: analyze trends and use data to set priorities and tailor strategies to market and customer needs.
- Communication: use CRM for account profiles, pre-call plans, and post-call documentation.
- Financial responsibility: manage a territory budget per compliance policies.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Patient Access, Market Access, Marketing.
Required skills/qualifications:
- BS/BA; 3+ years pharma/biotech/medical device selling (or 2+ years at Takeda).
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to influence decision makers.
- Business acumen; territory planning/account management; interpret analytical data.
- Collaboration in a matrix; payer access/reimbursement understanding.
- Adaptability and learning agility; reside within/near territory.
Preferred:
- 5+ years rare disease or sleep disorder sales; consultative/needs-based selling; regulated marketplace; patient access/market access coordination; tech/digital/AI-enabled processes.
Licenses/Travel/Training:
- Valid driverβs license; ability to travel up to 25β50%.
- Pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams).
Compensation & benefits (USA - NY - Virtual): $66.11β$90.91 hourly; may include short-term incentives and medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, PTO, holidays, well-being benefits; up to 80 sick hours and up to 120 vacation hours for new hires.
