About the role:
- Rare Disease Business Manager – Alpha-1 supporting Charlotte, NC, southern portions of NC, northern portions of SC and surrounding areas. Report to the Sr. Regional Business Director.

How you will contribute:
- Achieve sales quotas by driving new patient starts, sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retaining patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Focus on healthcare professionals (Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Respiratory Therapists, select Internal Medicine/Primary Care); educate and inform HCPs on Takeda’s Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency brands.
- Build a compliant National Sales and Marketing Strategy and create a territory business tactical plan.
- Call on prospective customers; master sales presentations; provide technical/administrative product information and demonstrations; maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Partner with home office, Marketing/Brand, and National/Corporate account teams for product pull-through.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system.
- Conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights/weekends.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and a clinical sales background.
- 5+ years of successful relevant healthcare experience.
- Live within territory and manage from Border-to-Border.
- Experience working within patient services, customer service, marketing, market access, contracts, national accounts, hospital team, and operations.
- Understanding of customer motivations and needs; strong organizational and territory planning skills.
- Experience with payor and reimbursement challenges.
- Ability to excel as both team and individual contributor.
- Ability to acquire and interpret data to create sales strategies; influence HCP prescribing.
- Preferred: experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and working with specialty pharmacies.
- Desirable: knowledge/experience in plasma derived therapies, rare diseases, or biotech.
- Travel based on territory size; overnight ~50% possible; occasional weekends.
- Must be 18+ with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; authorization to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.
