Title: Rare Disease Business Manager – Alpha-1 (Atlanta, GA territory)
How you will contribute
- Achieve sales quotas by driving new patient starts, sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Focus on healthcare professionals (Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Respiratory Therapists, select Internal Medicine/Primary Care): educate and inform HCPs on Takeda brands for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
- Build a compliant National Sales and Marketing Strategy and create a territory business tactical plan to maximize opportunity.
- Call on prospective customers; master sales presentations; provide technical/administrative product information and demonstrations; maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Partner with home office personnel, Marketing/Brand team, and National/Corporate account teams to drive product sales.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system.
- Conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights/weekends.
What you bring to Takeda
- Clinical sales background with Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
- 5+ years of successful relevant healthcare experience.
- Live within territory; manage Border-to-Border.
- Work cross-functionally (patient services, customer service, marketing, market access, contracts, national accounts, hospital team, operations).
- Understanding of customer motivations and needs; strong organizational and territory planning skills.
- Experience with payor and reimbursement challenges.
- Ability to excel as team and individual contributor.
- Data acquisition/interpretation to create sales strategies; influence HCPs to prescribe.
- Preferred: specialty biologics (injections/infusions) experience and working with specialty pharmacies.
- Desirable: plasma derived therapies, rare diseases, or biotech knowledge.
- Travel up to ~50% overnight; local travel; occasional weekends.
- Must be 18+ with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; authorization to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.
Compensation and benefits (as stated)
- U.S. hourly wage range (Atlanta, GA): $66.11–$90.91.
