Rare Disease Business Manager – Alpha-1 (Minneapolis and surrounding areas). Report to Sr. Regional Business Director.
How you will contribute
- Achieve sales quotas by driving new patient starts, sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Educate and inform healthcare professionals (Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Respiratory Therapists, select Internal Medicine/Primary Care) on Takeda Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency brands; build National Sales and Marketing Strategy (compliant) and create a territory business tactical plan.
- Make calls on prospective customers; deliver sales presentations; provide technical/administrative product information and demonstrations; maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Partner with home office, Marketing/Brand, and National/Corporate account teams to drive product pull-through.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system.
- Conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights/weekends.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Clinical sales background; Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- 5+ years successful relevant healthcare experience.
- Live within territory; manage border-to-border.
- Experience working with payor and reimbursement challenges.
- Ability to excel as a team and individual contributor.
- Organizational/territory planning skills; ability to acquire/interprete data to create sales strategies.
- Ability to influence HCPs to prescribe.
- Prefer experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and specialty pharmacies.
- Desirable: Plasma Derived Therapies, rare diseases, or biotech.
- Travel ~50% overnight (based on territory); occasional weekends.
- 18+ with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; authorized to drive company leased vehicle or rental.
