Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales quotas by driving new patient starts, sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Educate and inform healthcare professionals (Pulmonology, Allergy/Immunology, Respiratory Therapists, select Internal Medicine/Primary Care) on Takeda Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency brands; build a compliant National Sales and Marketing Strategy and a territory tactical plan.
- Call on prospective customers; present product information/demonstrations; maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Partner with home office, Marketing/Brand, and National/Corporate account teams to pull through product sales.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda’s customer management system.
- Conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights/weekends.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum; clinical sales background.
- 5+ years successful relevant healthcare experience.
- Live within territory; manage territory border-to-border.
- Work cross-functionally (patient services, customer service, marketing, market access, contracts, national accounts, hospital team, operations).
- Understand customer motivations/needs; organizational and territory planning skills.
- Experience with payor and reimbursement challenges.
- Ability to excel as both team and individual contributor.
- Ability to acquire/interprete data to create sales strategies; influence HCPs to prescribe.
- Preferred: experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and specialty pharmacies.
- Desirable: knowledge/experience in plasma derived therapies, rare diseases, or biotech.
- Travel: overnight could be ~50%; remaining is local; may require occasional weekends.
- Must be 18+ with valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; authorization to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.
