Rare Condition Account Manager (RCAM) — Southeast Region (DC, MD, VA, NC, SC, FL, GA, AL, LA)
Key Responsibilities
- Drive demand generation for the Growth & Genetics portfolio; build expert product/disease knowledge for face-to-face clinical dialogue.
- Promote approved indications and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
- Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve/exceed sales goals.
- Build strategic relationships with centers of excellence and academic institutions (physicians and cross-functional clinical/administrative stakeholders) to drive adoption.
- Lead cross-functional planning to optimize access/adoption and identify referral networks.
- Collaborate with Patient Services, Marketing, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Market Access to align goals and execution.
- Provide field insights on treatment trends, patient needs, and competitor activity; stay current on rare disease trends, policy (e.g., orphan drug), patient advocacy, and competition.
- Support/launch ultra-rare disease products; travel ~70%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in strategic account management, market access, or health system-based sales in rare disease/biotech/specialty pharma.
- Track record influencing high-level stakeholders in centers of excellence/academics with measurable impact.
- Demonstrated ethical, compliant use of product knowledge in tailored customer discussions.
- Strong rare disease market dynamics knowledge (distribution, patient support, care coordination, reimbursement).
- Strong communication, negotiation, executive presentation; clinical/business acumen.
- Proficiency with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and strategic account planning frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with IDNs, PBMs, and specialty pharmacy operations.
- Experience balancing a product portfolio.
Compensation
- Annual base salary: $195,000–$215,000 (varies by qualifications/skills).
