Role Summary

Proposal Manager I within Fortrea’s Enterprise Client Solutions team, driving the proposal process for opportunities including RFIs and RFPs. This role supports end-to-end proposal development, coordinating timelines, engaging internal stakeholders and external vendors, and contributing to pricing and content creation. Strong proposal writing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Owns all aspects of the appropriate proposal process (text, quote, budget, and/or response to RFIs) for assigned opportunities, including managing opportunities under general supervision, establishing clear timelines, meeting client requirements, and suggesting solutions for obstacles.
  • Manage opportunities of low to medium complexity and support integrated opportunities spanning multiple Business Units.
  • Review and analyze RFI/RFP documents to ensure adequate information for budget, proposal, and response preparation; follow up for additional information as required.
  • Identify and resolve issues around client enquiry requirements and Fortrea capabilities with support.
  • Organize and facilitate strategic and operational calls related to the opportunity.
  • Work across the organization in a matrix environment across multiple time-zones and locations to lead the process and complete deliverables.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors/vendor managers for quotations and/or information as required.
  • Prepare high-quality and accurate documents in accordance with agreed strategy and Sponsor requirements under changing timelines.
  • Support internal and external opportunity management negotiations (pricing, process, resources, timelines) as needed.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned deliverables.
  • Resolve issues/challenges and inform Manager; seek Manager’s advice for complex issues/challenges as needed.
  • Perform timely and accurate data entry into departmental and/or corporate databases/systems.
  • Support client-facing and senior management-facing activities surrounding assigned opportunities, including preparation, attendance, or leading applicable meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of the technical and regulatory environments; identify ways to improve efficiency and quality of processes and deliverables.
  • Contribute to assigned client relationship improvement activities and implementation.
  • Perform quality control activities per the appropriate process/requirements.
  • Support hosting sales-focused inbound client visits.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new starters with management staff to ensure proper onboarding.
  • Contribute to content library by submitting new content or updates to existing content via the official submission process.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the manager that require similar skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field or equivalent work experience. Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in budget and/or text development, or equivalent CRO/pharma/related experience to perform essential duties.
  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and persistence with tact.
  • Proficient MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of proposal management software (e.g., Salesforce.com, Qvidian, Proposal Automation) preferred.
  • Strong editing and writing skills; ability to plan, multi-task, and prioritize.
  • Teamwork, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and to deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills; effective communication with internal stakeholders, clients, and senior management.
  • Positive attitude, sense of urgency, and ability to work across Business Units.
  • Willingness to work irregular and/or extended hours to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands / Travel

  • Flexibility to participate in meetings across various time zones outside core hours.
  • Travel Required.
