Role Summary
Product Returnship role within Recursion’s Product team. The program provides a 16-week pathway for individuals who have been on a hiatus from the STEM industry to re-enter the workforce while contributing to the development of a core discovery-enabling product within the Recursion OS. The position is based in Salt Lake City, UT with hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision for a core discovery-enabling product within the Recursion OS
- Partner closely with biologists, chemists, data scientists, and engineers to advance the early pipeline through development of methods for target identification and hit identification
- Define and prioritize product requirements to improve semi-automated evaluation systems
- Plan and coordinate delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives
- Articulate strategy and progress to stakeholders at all levels, from individual scientists to leadership, ensuring alignment and excitement around the shared vision
Qualifications
- 3 years of total professional work experience in one or more of the following domains:
- Scientific: laboratory, academic research, or clinical operations
- Technical: software development, data science, informatics, or technical program management
- Product: Product Management, Product Marketing, Strategy, or equivalent roles
- Scientific curiosity and appetite for learning complex drug discovery terminology
- Stakeholder management experience aligning diverse stakeholders to a unified goal
- Customer empathy and discovery: ability to understand pain points and user workflows to define problems worth solving
- Career hiatus of 2+ years from the STEM industry with a strong foundational background

- Product management mindset with ability to translate strategy into actionable initiatives

Education
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field or related discipline (implied by domains above)
Additional Requirements
- Location-based: Salt Lake City, UT with hybrid working flexibility
- Program duration: February 2026 through end of May 2026 (four months) with potential transition to full-time based on performance
