Principal Medical Science Liaison (PMSL) for J&J Innovative Medicines Oncology, based in the Texas/New Mexico territory.

Essential Functions
- Lead strategic territory planning: cultivate community/academic/opinion leader relationships; execute high-quality two-way scientific exchange; mentor peers on territory strategy; translate and cross-functionally share insights.
- Develop, maintain, and execute field strategic plan; identify resource gaps; introduce innovative programs/solutions aligned to leadership priorities.
- Lead pre- and post-launch activities; analyze competitor data, clinical evidence, and scientific positioning to differentiate and influence therapeutic area strategy.
- Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs/investigators/health systems/academic centers by integrating clinical data and real-world evidence into audience-appropriate, non-promotional communications.

Research & Evidence Generation Leadership
- Identify, develop, and execute high-level support for company- and investigator-initiated initiatives; leverage standards of care, trials, and competitor landscape for research communication.
- Liaise with R&D/Medical Affairs/operations; support investigator-initiated studies (facilitating scientific exchange and connecting to internal research/grant processes without assuming sponsor responsibilities).
- Anticipate shifts in competitive/scientific environment impacting evidence generation and positioning.

Scientific Acumen & Thought Leadership
- Lead journal club dialogue; share scientific updates.
- Provide leadership at scientific conferences/symposia/advisory boards/investigator meetings and approved speaking opportunities.
- Listen, document, synthesize, and share medical insights; drive expert advisory activities; ensure timely, relevant, clinically meaningful data exchange.

Department Operations & Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Field Director to translate national medical strategy into KOL/territory plans and support execution.
- Drive compliant cross-functional collaboration (medical/commercial/RWV&E/[TA] MSLs) and act as trusted field expert.
- Handle administrative/operational responsibilities compliantly; leverage AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications (Required)
- Doctorate-level degree or equivalent (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.); post-graduate experience required; residency/fellowship preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant MSL experience.
- Up to 70% travel (overnights/weekend commitments).
- Data gathering/analysis proficiency; clinical expertise; problem solving; interpersonal influence; cross-functional collaboration and strategic thinking.
- Must reside in defined territory; valid U.S. driver’s license.

Preferred
- Therapeutic area knowledge/experience.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and CoPilot; use computers/remote technologies.
- Related clinical, research, or pharma experience.

Benefits/Compensation
- Anticipated base salary: $164,000–$328,000 (also stated range: $164,000–$282,900). Company car eligible via FLEET program; annual performance bonus (discretionary); possible participation in health and other benefit plans per applicable terms.
