Position Summary
- Planning is the control tower of the supply chain: connecting demand, supply, manufacturing, quality, and customer commitments to keep the business running and customers supported.
Essential Functions (What you will do)
- Change leadership: establish an operating model aligned to business growth and customer needs; reset expectations/standard work to improve predictability and execution; drive adoption of best practices across forecasting, MRP execution, and inventory; identify systemic gaps and create measurable improvement plans with clear owners and timelines.
- Engage & motivate the team: build a high-performing culture of ownership and continuous improvement; coach and develop planners (1:1s, expectations, individualized growth plans); set standards for planning excellence and accountability; provide timely feedback and recognize great work.
- Drive execution discipline: establish and run a weekly/monthly planning operating rhythm; monitor/improve key planning KPIs; lead high-pressure execution windows (EOQ, constrained supply) with structured prioritization and disciplined closure.
- Cross-functional partnerships: partner with Manufacturing, QC, Customer Service, Commercial, Procurement, and Finance to align priorities and manage constraints; ensure commitments are realistic; lead alignment on demand prioritization, capacity constraints, and customer commitments (trade-offs and decision rights).
- Advanced planning & inventory optimization: lead forecasting, scheduling, MRP execution, and replenishment strategy; partner with IT to optimize ERP planning functionality and data quality; ensure processes scale and remain resilient as the business grows.
Qualifications
Required
- BS in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7–10+ years production planning or demand management experience in manufacturing (regulated/life sciences preferred).
- Supervisory experience (coaching, management, change leadership).
- Strong MRP/ERP planning principles; experience leading system-driven execution.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and lead through complexity.
- Strong analytical capability using data to drive decisions and accountability.
Preferred
- MS in Supply Chain.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (or similar ERP).
- Lean/Six Sigma exposure or continuous improvement toolkit.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM/CSCP) or equivalent.
