Operations
Objectives/Purpose
- Drive execution of Pharm Sci strategy to increase business performance and organizational efficiency, while increasing speed for CMC deliverables (including AI-forward projects and mindset).
- Partner with PS leadership to identify, prioritize, and lead enterprise transformation initiatives focused on increasing CMC productivity and ensuring CMC costs are financially sustainable with an increasing R&D portfolio.
- Organize and structure Pharm Sci operations with key cross-functional programs, leadership meetings, transparency, and delivery of measurable value across global sites; simplify complex situations to lead through ambiguity.
- In collaboration with lean experts and scientists, drive process/system simplification to improve agility and foster a culture of high performance.

Scope
- Influence strategy and transformation initiatives across global Pharmaceutical Sciences (Boston, Vienna, Shonan) and a network of outsourcing partners.
- Accountable for efficient structure and systems supporting Pharm Sci operations and partner collaborations.
- Lead cost optimization and business performance programs across CMC internal and external spend in partnership with Finance, R&D, Global Supply & Quality, and Commercial.
- Operate as an individual contributor with significant cross-functional team leadership; drive AI-forward ways of working.

Accountabilities
- Strategic partner/advisor to SVP, Head of Pharmaceutical Sciences; drive execution of organizational priorities.
- Create clear framework and structure for Pharm Sci Operations and the Leadership Team.
- Direct and mobilize cross-functional project teams to deliver measurable outcomes (cost, speed, simplicity).
- Coordinate organization-wide strategic planning, communications, and progress tracking (including PSLT cadence, town halls, and stakeholder communications).
- Integrate and align senior stakeholders across Pharm Sci, Finance, R&D, GMS, and GQ.
- Develop and deliver business analytics, executive presentations, and dashboards.
- Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative environment.

- End-to-end accountability for strategic execution and measurable performance improvement, notably cost transformation.
- Cross-enterprise visibility across Pharm Sci and R&D.
- Integrator connecting senior stakeholders and aligning global sites to business priorities.
- Combine CMC product development expertise with operational and analytical capability.
- Deliver rapid, enterprise-impactful results through collaborative leadership and problem solving.

Required Qualifications
- PhD (13–15+ years) or MS (19–21+ years) or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years in CMC product development or related pharmaceutical/biopharma experience.
- Demonstrated success leading complex strategic/cost programs in a global, matrixed environment.

Preferred Skills / Knowledge
- Lean/operational excellence training or practical experience.

- Track record to structure/organize leadership teams and operations.
- Ability to simplify complex information and communicate to advance business outcomes.

Education/Experience (as stated)
