Area Business Specialist (ABS)

Responsibilities
- Achieve territory commercial objectives by developing and executing quarterly/annual plans to exceed growth targets.
- Drive sales goals and activity goals in line with company performance expectations and customer engagement objectives.
- Use internal data/analytics and customer insights to identify high-potential HCPs/accounts and build/execute a territory business plan.
- Interpret market research and sales analytics to meet territory objectives.
- Educate and engage HCPs to help compliantly identify individual undiagnosed/untreated rare disease patients; create urgency for timely diagnosis, eligibility, and treatment pull-through.
- Use an account-based approach with practice stakeholders (physicians, nurses, MAs, office staff, referral coordinators, prior authorization personnel) to remove barriers to access and drive treatment initiation and adherence.
- Use available resources (field analytics, marketing campaigns, speaker programs, peer-to-peer education, disease-state and patient-finding materials) to improve customer engagement and pull-through.
- Collaborate with PAMs, Regional Business Directors/peers, and internal teams (Marketing, Training, Market Access, Commercial Ops) to share best practices and maximize impact.
- Maintain professionalism/ethics and comply with applicable policies, regulations, and healthcare laws; pursue continuous development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of life sciences sales experience required.
- 2+ years rare disease product promotion preferred (or proven specialty pharmaceutical sales).
- Preferred: rare/ultra-rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, neurology.
- Strong sales process knowledge; strong analytical/business acumen; excellent communication and problem-solving/decision-making.
- Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license required.

Working Conditions
- Field-based; daily travel within assigned geography; periodic evening/weekend work.
- Travel by air/vehicle; extensive overnight travel for larger geographies.

Compensation (as stated)
- Anticipated base salary range: $110,000–$190,000.
