The Specialty Field Sales Representative consistently achieves goals and maximizes sales by executing local Sales and Marketing strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to HCPs and key customers.
Responsibilities
- Drives sales, seeks wins, and drives outcomes to exceed goals
- Collaborates by sharing key customer insights/trends with colleagues and stakeholders
- Leads team/partner initiatives to drive results across the territory based on understanding HCP influence
- Identifies and leverages key customer insights to stay ahead of market trends and developments
- Challenges and influences target physicians’ approach to patient management by sharing new information and unique insights
- Maximizes performance using knowledge of complexities within the targeted physician customer base
- Applies business acumen and analytical skills to advance the business and deliver exceptional results
- Exhibits product and disease-state fluency
- Develops and executes business and tailored account plans to meet sales goals
- Coordinates with other representatives to leverage provider relationships across the geography
- Executes sales strategies based on evaluation of customer needs, dynamics, trends, and competitors
- Maintains required activity records/reports, including timely and accurate call data transmission
- Implements the Novo Nordisk Way selling model (pre-call planning, customer engagement, objection resolution, call to action)
- For launch of new products/programs/services: aligns targeted physicians on need for change, value propositions, and appropriate patients
- Generates advocacy by sharing approved clinical/scientific information with target physicians
- Uses patient-centric approach to tailor engagement to patient/practice needs
- Uses practice guidelines/chronic care models/protocols to engage in clinical conversations
- Controls samples and other company property in accordance with policies/procedures and legal requirements
- Manages discretionary territory budget and marketing promotional budget to support territory sales goals
- Maintains knowledge of promoted NNI approved clinical studies and engages prescribers/support staff/pharmacies appropriately
- Participates in product/disease-state knowledge activities during sales/marketing meetings, training, conventions, and displays
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required
- Minimum of two (2) years of pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare experience required
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability
- Ability to navigate PA’s in a rapidly developing market
- Clinical approach to selling and engaging customers
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); sales data/call reporting software experience ideal
- Health Systems and/or Institutional Account experience preferred
- Knowledge of gastroenterology and/or hepatology preferred
- Self-starter able to evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Valid driver’s license; must be in good standing and not exceed the Novo Nordisk points threshold based on Motor Vehicle Records
