The Cardiometabolic Care Specialist I – Ecosystem serves as Novo Nordisk’s primary representative in a geographic area, engaging health systems, academic centers, specialists, primary care providers, and other stakeholders. Goal: optimize sales and establish Novo Nordisk as a frontrunner in cardiometabolic care by promoting the product portfolio and recommending products/services based on customer needs and approved guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Account management: adapt sales/promotion strategies to health system practices and managed care; build and maintain annual account plans; cultivate relationships with specialists and decision-makers; overcome resistance to prescribing; influence residents/fellows at academic institutions.
- Business acumen: discuss hospital/group economics (incl. quality metrics); use data to build/execute business plans; manage time/resources with limited supervision; use discretionary budget for maximum impact.
- Clinical understanding: deep knowledge of cardiometabolic disease and differentiating product profiles; educate stakeholders on approved uses/advantages for diabetes care; maintain knowledge of recent clinical studies; participate in training.
- Selling skills: handle objections and secure next steps; contribute at meetings/conventions; complete monthly reporting; describe/market the portfolio and best-fit products; implement programs/projects; recommend strategies based on needs and competitors.
Physical requirements:
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree and/or PharmD required.
- 1+ year preferred in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales in multiple channels; leadership; expert cardiometabolic product/disease knowledge.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word/Excel); sales data/call reporting software experience preferred.
- Self-starter; able to make decisions with minimal supervision.
