Position Summary:
Immunization Specialist (IS) drives healthcare provider (HCP) engagement and adult vaccine uptake by educating HCPs and office staff on disease prevention and GSKโs vaccine portfolio, translating clinical data into conversations that support immunization goals. Field-based; reports to Vaccine Sales Director and collaborates with field/account leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Engage HCPs across pediatrics, internal medicine, family practice, and health departments to communicate clinical value/benefits using approved materials.
- Build expertise in vaccine therapeutic areas, GSK products, and competitors.
- Support peer-to-peer educational programs, conventions, and speaker events.
- Tailor engagement strategies to local practice dynamics and HCP/account needs.
- Drive pull-through for adult segments (private/public) including stocking, in-office vaccination, and/or referral processes.
- Partner with Vaccine Account Managers to drive pull-through within Public Awardees, Health Systems, and contracted accounts.
- Influence uptake of publicly funded vaccines; understand immunization goals and funding cycles.
- Support ordering/inventory needs as appropriate; educate on HS policies.
- Identify/address barriers to contract execution/utilization; partner with cross-functional teams to resolve access, reimbursement, or workflow barriers.
- Uphold compliant, high-quality customer engagement; maintain accurate CRM documentation.
Success Metrics:
- Achieve territory sales, immunization rates, and market share targets.
- Meet activity metrics and Good Selling Outcomes; 100% CRM/POL compliance.
- Complete required training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree.
- 2+ years business-to-business or pharmaceutical sales (or 5+ years for Senior IS).
- Local/regional travel; valid driverโs license and willingness to drive.
Preferred:
- 2+ years vaccines sales; strong performance record; healthcare account-selling experience; science/business/customer engagement competency; healthcare setting knowledge; learning agility.
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Analytical business acumen; self-directed/organized; ability to influence; identify issues and provide compliant recommendations.
Compensation/Benefits:
- US base salary range: $119,250โ$198,750; annual bonus; eligibility for share-based long-term incentive; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and paid caregiver/parental medical leave.
Location:
- Field-based; travel based on customer location relative to the successful candidate (ideal candidate resides in Virginia Beach).
