Role Summary
- The Payer & Health Systems Oncology Medical Affairs Director (PHSO MAD) develops professional relationships with healthcare decision makers across payer and provider organizations.
- Provides accurate information across the oncology product portfolio, clinical science, and quality management in line with regulatory and ethical standards; mentors others and supports Medical Affairs leadership on strategic planning.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
- Build ongoing relationships with key decision makers in organized health systems to support access to medical/scientific information.
- Develop strategic account plans with Integrated Account Management (IAM) Account Executive teams and execute medical activities.
- Monitor market dynamics and evolving information needs to inform value-proposition development (product and non-product offerings).
- Coordinate with Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) for medical/scientific support needs.
- Support strategic planning with PHSO MAD Team Lead, Executive Director Medical Affairs, and other Country Medical Affairs members.
- Attend and support scientific/medical meetings; prepare post-meeting deliverables.
Location
- Remote; serves NC, SC, and TN. Candidates should reside in the territory; travel up to 50%.
Required Qualifications
- MD, PhD, or PharmD.
- 3 years field-based MA experience with payers/integrated delivery systems/scientific leaders OR 5 years clinical oncology experience in a health system (or equivalent).
- Experience with organized healthcare system(s) or payer organizations; ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships.
- Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine and healthcare systems; pharmacoeconomics, disease/quality management, value-based payment, and healthcare policy trends.
- Excellent communication, networking, integrity, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry ethical guidelines.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment; project leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Field-based medical experience with payers/integrated delivery systems/scientific leaders.
- Formal training in health economics and/or outcomes research.
