Role Summary
- The Payer and Health Systems Oncology Precision Medicine Medical Affairs Director (PHSO PM MAD) develops professional relationships with healthcare decision makers across reference laboratories, managed markets organizations (including lab benefit managers), integrated delivery networks, oncology pathway/group purchasing organizations, federal payers, health systems, and state oncology/hematology societies.
- Provides accurate medical/scientific information across the oncology portfolio, precision medicine, clinical science, and quality management; supports Medical Affairs (MA) strategy and mentors team members.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
- Build ongoing relationships with key decision makers to ensure access to medical/scientific information.
- Develop strategic account plans and execute medical activities aligned to the plan.
- Provide market-dynamics insights to support value-proposition development.
- Coordinate with Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) on medical/scientific support needs.
- Support strategic planning with PHSO leadership and other US MA members.
- Attend and support scientific/medical meetings; prepare post-meeting deliverables.
Required Location/Travel
- Territory: MI, IL, IN, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, AR, LA, TX, NM; candidates must reside within territory.
- Travel up to 50% within territory.
Required Qualifications
- MD/PharmD/PhD.
- 3+ years field-based MA experience with reference labs/payers/IDNs/scientific leaders OR 5+ years clinical health-system experience (or equivalent).
- Experience with healthcare system/payer organizations; peer-to-peer relationship development.
- Thorough oncology biomarkers/diagnostics and precision medicine knowledge; strong ethics and organizational/prioritization skills; project leadership.
Preferred
- Field-based precision medicine medical experience; research experience with manuscripts desirable; training in health economics/outcomes research.
