Role Summary
- Diagnostic, therapeutic, and disease expert who develops relationships with healthcare decision makers across reference laboratories, managed markets organizations (including lab benefit managers), integrated delivery networks, oncology pathway and group purchasing organizations, federal government payers, health systems, and state oncology/hematology societies.
- Provides accurate information across oncology portfolio, precision medicine, clinical science, and quality management in a balanced, credible manner consistent with regulatory and ethical standards.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
- Develop professional relationships to ensure access to medical/scientific information across the oncology portfolio.
- Develop strategic account plans with PHSO MADs, oncology account management, and precision medicine teams; execute aligned medical activities.
- Serve as a primary resource on market dynamics to understand evolving information needs and inform value-proposition development.
- Coordinate with the Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) on medical/scientific support needs for key health system accounts.
- Support strategic planning for Medical Affairs leadership and mentor team members.
- Attend and support scientific/medical meetings and prepare post-meeting deliverables.
Required Location / Travel
- Covers MI, IL, IN, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, AR, LA, TX, NM; candidates must reside in the territory.
- Travel up to 50% within the territory.
Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
- MD, PharmD, or PhD.
- 3+ years field-based Medical Affairs experience with reference labs/payers/IDS or 5+ years health system clinical experience (or equivalent).
- Experience with payer/health system organizations and developing peer-to-peer relationships.
- Thorough knowledge of oncology biomarkers/diagnostics and their role in clinical medicine, managed markets, disease management, and medical research.
- Strong interpersonal/networking skills, integrity, collaboration, customer focus; understanding of pharma ethical guidelines.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment; project leadership.
Preferred
- Precision medicine field-based medical experience.
- Research experience; co-authorship desirable (immunology/cancer biology or related).
- Training in health economics and/or outcomes research.
