Role Summary
- The Payer and Health Systems Oncology Precision Medicine Medical Affairs Director (PHSO PM MAD) develops relationships with healthcare decision makers across reference laboratories, managed markets organizations (including lab benefit managers), integrated delivery networks, oncology pathway/group purchasing organizations, federal payers, health systems, and state oncology/hematology societies.
- Provides balanced, accurate medical/scientific information across the oncology portfolio, precision medicine, clinical science, and quality management; supports Medical Affairs strategy and mentors team members.
Responsibilities
- Build ongoing relationships with key decision makers to ensure access to medical/scientific information.
- Develop strategic account plans and execute medical activities aligned to the plan.
- Monitor market dynamics to inform evolving decision-maker information needs and value-proposition development.
- Coordinate with the Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) on medical/scientific support needs.
- Support PHSO MAD leadership and US Medical Affairs strategic planning.
- Attend scientific/medical meetings and prepare post-meeting deliverables.
Required Location/Travel
- Reside in territory: MI, IL, IN, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, AR, LA, TX, NM; travel up to 50% within territory.
Qualifications
- MD/PharmD/PhD.
- 3+ years field-based Medical Affairs experience (reference labs, regional/national payers, IDS, or scientific leaders) OR 5+ years clinical health system experience.
- Experience with payer/health system organizations and peer-to-peer relationships.
- Thorough knowledge of oncology biomarkers/diagnostics and oncology precision medicine.
- Strong communication, integrity, collaboration, customer focus; ethical guideline understanding.
- Ability to prioritize/organize in changing environments; project leadership.
Preferred
- Field-based precision medicine medical experience; research experience; co-authorship; health economics/outcomes training.
