Reporting to the VP, US Payer & Reimbursement, this field-based Market Access role is responsible for securing and maintaining optimal product coverage for uniQure products in the US (commercial, Managed Medicare, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC)s, and Medicaid payers).

Key Result Areas / Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with payer decision-makers (national/regional health plans, PBMs, government agencies, IDNs)
- Lead all pre-approval, payer-facing engagements in line with legal/regulatory requirements
- Monitor payer landscapes, competitive dynamics, and evolving healthcare policy to inform strategy
- Track industry trends/legislative changes; recommend updates to payer engagement strategy
- Partner with MSL counterparts to enable high-quality commercial market introductions
- Provide payer-market insights to commercial leadership to influence company strategy
- Help design performance goals and metrics for initial implementation
- Partner with payor marketing, field reimbursement, and account management to support utilization and maximize market opportunity
- Develop strategic account business plans across payer, provider, and targeted pharmacy sectors

Qualifications & Skills:
- BS/BA in life sciences, finance/accounting, or related field + 12+ years in medical life sciences
- 5+ years national account payer experience with established relationships at GPOs, PBMs, and plans (rare disease required; gene therapy account management preferred)
- Strong relationships/access to payer and provider decision-makers
- Track record negotiating access agreements (national/regional payers, PBMs, government agencies) strongly preferred
- Ability to build/lead within internal medical and commercial teams
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Deep understanding of US reimbursement, pricing, formulary dynamics, and access pathways
- Strong commercialization/launch experience (cell & gene therapy or high-cost buy-and-bill preferred)
- Knowledge of legal/regulatory frameworks, industry guidelines, and compliance
- Ability to travel ~50%

US Salary Range: $205,000–$265,000 USD
