Role: Patient Support Specialist specializing in rare diseases (e.g., PKU), focusing on patient education, adherence, and logistical coordination across pediatric and adult populations. Responsibilities: provide disease-specific education via phone/video, collaborate with sales and clinical teams to support therapy initiation and ongoing patient engagement, identify and address adherence barriers, support life-stage transitions, and ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory standards. Serve as a PKU subject matter resource within Patient Services, contribute to workflow and educational material development, and escalate safety concerns when necessary. Requirements: Bachelorโs degree plus 5+ years in clinical nutrition, nursing, or patient counseling with demonstrated adherence support skills; active Dietitian/Nursing license or Masterโs degree preferred. Experience with PKU or metabolic disorders across all ages, proficiency in motivational interviewing and patient coaching, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Preferred: experience in rare disease patient services, familiarity with EMR/CRM systems, bilingual abilities, and knowledge of industry-specific compliance. Travel up to 50%, with a preferred candidate location on the U.S. West Coast (Pacific Time Zone).
