Role: Patient Support Specialist focusing on rare disease (e.g., PKU) patient care, education, and adherence management. Responsibilities: provide disease and medication education, coordinate therapy initiation, address adherence barriers, support patient transitions across life stages, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and SOPs. Serve as a PKU subject matter expert within the Patient Services team, contribute to workflow development, and document interactions in approved systems. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in clinical nutrition, nursing, or patient counseling with adherence support skills; active dietitian/nursing license or master’s degree preferred. High-value: experience with metabolic disorders (PKU/inherited metabolic disorders), patient education, motivational interviewing, and handling logistics for pediatric and adult populations. Preferred: background in rare disease patient services, familiarity with EMR/CRM systems, bilingual skills. Work setup: Up to 50% travel; preferred based in U.S. West Coast (Pacific Time Zone), with consideration for other locations. Salary range: $97,100–$122,200, with eligibility for incentives and benefits.
