Role Summary
Patient Educator, Pacific – responsible for delivering disease state education and guiding patients and caregivers navigating Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis (PDP), including information on treatment options and access support to ensure continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prescription disease state education to patients and caregivers via group meetings and presentations to advocacy groups, community-based organizations, and professional societies.
- Provide information regarding product efficacy, safety, and access support through ACADIA Connect to patients and/or caregivers who opt in.
- Offer approved educational resources to help patients and caregivers understand PDP and discuss it with their doctor.
- Distribute approved educational materials to raise awareness of PDP and potential treatment with NUPLAZID.
- Build trusting relationships to support patients and caregivers throughout their journey.
- Collaborate with Patient Access Managers to address questions related to coverage, reimbursement, and affordability.
- Facilitate referral and transition into ACADIA Connect for comprehensive access assistance.
- Partner with Neurology and Long-Term Care Sales Specialists to ensure providers are aware of the Patient Educator resource.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, caregivers, key customers, and advocacy events; collaborate with community organizations to support education programs.
- Provide feedback to the marketing team to improve patient engagement and educational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or related healthcare field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of pharma experience; preferred in patient education, patient navigation, advocacy, or patient support services.
- Knowledge of neurology, psychiatry, or movement disorders preferred; Parkinson’s Disease or PDP experience strongly desired.
- Ability to build empathetic, supportive relationships with patients and caregivers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Experience collaborating across marketing, patient support, advocacy, and field-based teams.
- Familiarity with compliance standards for patient-facing pharmaceutical roles.
- Ability to travel, including driving and overnight stays; air travel as needed.

Education

Additional Requirements
- Travel up to 75% of the time; requires driving and overnight stays; eligibility to drive a company vehicle.
- Must reside within the territory (or within 30 miles of its border) and near a major airport as needed.
