General Summary:
- The Pain Territory Account Manager (PTAM) establishes and maintains relationships with key institutional decision makers and affiliated Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX in acute pain.
- Develops deep strategic relationships in hospital settings and executes strategic account plans for 15-20 institutions (hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers) plus select physicians within hospital settings/networks.
- Reports to a Regional Field Leader and works alongside Territory Business Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish meaningful relationships across multiple layers of the hospital system (medical/administrative staff, pharmacies, formulary decision makers, KTLs).
- Maintain expertise in clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educate HCPs on appropriate use.
- Navigate the formulary process and deliver value content to support timely inclusion on formularies, pathways, and/or protocols.
- Understand account/market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision-maker relationship management, protocols, referral networks, access, and drivers/barriers.
- Implement and maintain strategic account plans to drive growth and patient-focused solutions.
- Drive sales performance; ensure forecasts and budgets meet/exceed territory expectations.
- Collaborate compliantly with other field and HQ teams to align business plans and initiatives.
- Model ethics and integrity to support a culture of compliance.
Required Experience and Knowledge/Skills:
- 5-7+ years biotech sales; hospital/institution product launch highly desired.
- 3+ years account management leveraging existing institutional relationships.
- Ability to navigate hospital institutions/systems; engage formulary management and product review to gain access.
- Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
- Strong IT capabilities including Veeva CRM.
- Experience in launching new products preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Complete required trainings, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations.
- Live and work within the territory (may require proximity to a major airport).
- Valid driverβs license; travel up to 80% (car/airplane) and work after hours; 10-30% overnight travel.
Pay Range:
- $133,600 - $200,400
