Oncology Sales Specialist - Southern Virginia

As an Oncology Sales Specialist, you will partner with customers to address identified needs, educate key stakeholders about Oncology products and indications, and communicate the company’s vision to the Oncology community.
Field-based role covering Southern Virginia (Richmond, Charlottesville, Williamsburg, Norfolk). Candidate must reside within the territory. Overnight travel may be required ~20% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a clear value proposition; contrast/compare company brands vs. competitors using approved resources in compliant discussions with healthcare professionals (HCPs).
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customers; build relationships with decision-makers and influencers by understanding practice structures and organizational dynamics.
- Maintain oncology expertise (cancer staging, treatment pathways, dosing schedules); demonstrate patient impact knowledge and understanding of clinical trials and how they influence treatment decisions.
- Analyze oncology purchasing/prescribing trends, including drug distribution channels (GPOs, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies) and utilization patterns (outpatient vs. inpatient infusion; hospital contract arrangements).
- Develop and implement short- and long-term account strategies based on account interdependencies.
- Execute account plans with Customer Team Leader and stakeholders; share insights and best practices across accounts.
- Ask strategic questions of diverse oncology stakeholders; use customer insights to position oncology brands and support customized strategies.
- Collaborate with extended in-scope teams (Key Account Managers, Nurse Educators, Field Reimbursement Associates, Medicare Account Executives, and others) to ensure an integrated customer experience.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years Sales experience OR high school diploma with at least 10 years equivalent experience (including non-sales healthcare/scientific field, professional marketing, or military experience).
- 2+ years of oncology field sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Travel as required.
- Reside within the territory or within commuting distance to territory workload centers.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Documented strong performance in sales/marketing or oncology clinical roles.
- Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, DNP).
- Clinical oncology experience across multiple solid tumors (e.g., GU-bladder, CRC, Gastric).
