Oncology Sales Representative β field-based Richmond/Southern Virginia territory (Norfolk, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Richmond). Travel in-person to customers and for national sales meetings/industry conferences; overnight travel ~10β15%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the geography.
- Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and influencers; build relationships and trust to uncover needs.
- Use approved resources/messaging to communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products in indicated uses.
- Understand multidisciplinary/extended care team workflows, cancer staging, treatment options/pathways/guidelines, and impacts on patients.
- Analyze trends in complex buying environments (e.g., GPOs, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies).
- Review/evaluate prescribing and purchasing patterns (outpatient vs in-patient infusion; hospital/GPO contract, etc.).
- Develop and execute short- and long-term account plans with local team and district manager (Oncology Customer Team Leader).
- Ask insightful questions to support relevant discussions about the product portfolio.
- Ensure consistent customer experience and share learnings with the customer team (e.g., Customer Team Leader, Key Account Manager, Nurse Educator, Field Reimbursement Associate, Medicare Account Executive).
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelorβs degree + 6+ years sales experience OR high school diploma + 8+ years equivalent experience.
- Oncology/healthcare/scientific experience strongly preferred (pharma/biotech/medical devices); other equivalent experience acceptable.
- Valid driverβs license; able to drive.
- Live in or near the district.
Preferred:
- 2+ years oncology field-based experience selling oncology therapeutics; oncology field sales or clinical oncology experience.
Required Skills (high-level):
- Account management, customer engagement/relationship management (CRM), data analysis, lead generation, market analysis, sales forecasting/reporting, product knowledge/portfolio management, revenue generation.
