Role & Responsibilities
- Lead a team of eight (8) Oncology Territory Managers (OTMs) for the Solid Tumor Team.
- Drive performance for two brands (mCRC and Lung cancer) across the Southeast region (LA, AL, MS, TN, Western GA/Atlanta, and FL panhandle); must reside in the region.
- Obtain OTM commitments to ensure sales strategy and sales plan success.
- Lead development and execution of major programs to meet sales objectives.
- Ensure OTMs conduct business planning, customer relationship management, reporting, and tracking of execution metrics.
- Lead regional training and communication efforts.
- Ensure team compliance with applicable laws/regulations for interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and appropriate dissemination of literature.
- Set goals, manage resources, and achieve regional plans with limited supervision.
- Build partnerships with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Value & Access, Learning & Development).
- Recruit, manage, train, and motivate direct reporting staff.
- Analyze regional business trends/opportunities; execute marketing plans and deliver business reviews.
- Partner with Business Insights & Analytics for product opportunity; execute account planning and value propositions with Marketing and PVA.
- Gain formulary and protocol access for Takeda Oncology products.
- Coordinate account management at larger outlets; call on key stakeholders to ensure effective supply.
- Develop relationships with Executive-level customers and KOLs; leverage clinical experts to educate on therapeutic processes/protocols.
- Identify stakeholders’ needs/priorities; develop cross-functional business plans and launch business development initiatives for large/high-volume accounts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 8+ years commercial experience in pharma/biotech, with 3+ years in Oncology.
- 3+ years Oncology sales leadership experience (highly preferred).
- Proven ability to manage a geographic region; candidate should live near a major airport.
- Demonstrated track record of business planning/execution and sales success; strong established relationships in assigned region.
- High science aptitude; ability to coach/teach/train; growth mindset.
- Strong influence, organization, analysis/problem-solving, communication/collaboration.
- Commercial, Regulatory, and technical awareness.
- Ability to navigate multi-disciplinary geography with 50–60% travel.
- Valid US Driver’s License in good standing.
Preferred
- 4+ years successful leadership experience; 3+ years direct oncology leadership experience.
- Master’s degree.
- Demonstrated people leadership & coaching experience.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 50–60% travel, including some evening programs and weekend conferences/congresses.
